Assistant Buyer - Surrey

We are currently working with a very successful housebuilder operating in Surrey who are looking for a Buyer to work on high-end standard and bespoke housing projects throughout the region.

Responsibilities will include:

Scheduling and placing material orders with Group National Suppliers, with the main aim being to optimise the quality of your projects, while keeping to a carefully planned budget.

You will achieve this by issuing tendering packs and material enquiries, and then assess the best quotations, and then selecting the most suitable one for your build. You will need to be proactive and able to see issues that may arise in the build process with regards to late delivery of materials and running over of costs to rectify them as fast as possible.

Additionally, you will assist with:

• Oversee material buying for everything required on site.
• Place orders across a broad spectrum of projects.
• Hand scheduling and ensuring materials are at the correct quantity and in the right place at the right time.
• Work with group suppliers, obtaining accurate quotations.
• Ensure orders are on time and checking overruns.
• Guarantee that the business is made aware of potential issues.
• Deal with site queries.
• Handle rebates.

Candidates should have:

• Have worked in buying or procurement recently.
• A background in construction.
• A methodical and careful appr
• Excellent communication and Interpersonal skills.
• The ability to work well under pressure.
